Mantas mantas mantas
The diveslut just got back from a week of bliss in Raja Ampat. We lived on board the KM Black Manta which is the most awesome live aboard ever! One of the highlight dives was at Manta Spa. Some others call it manta sandy. The dive site is simple. It consists of 3 bommies at about 13m and then a man made spectator line infront of the bommies for divers to watch the mantas. The mantas were comfortable and friendly with divers, putting on their most beautiful show. We even had the privilege of watching a manta take a great big dump. No kidding. After the manta pooped cleaner fish were in a frenzy because its apparently good food! Ick.
There's usually a current at Manta Spa but the man made spectator line makes it easy to latch on and watch the show. Mantas are things of such unbelievable beauty. We had two dives there in the afternoon and saw in total about 7 different mantas, three of which were black in colour. I could never tire of looking at mantas. Favourite underwater creature EVER!
The only annoyance during the dive was that little anthias were biting at our fingers because we were infringing upon their territory. The damn fish also photobomb many of my pictures! -__-
